EASTERN ZONE |
The Eastern zone covers two administrative regions namely Morogoro and Coast region. The zone covers a land area of 103,206 sq.km where is 70,799 sq. km covering Morogoro and 32,407 sq. km for Coast region. The zone has a population of about 2,648,963 million people.
It borders Dodoma region to the west, Dar es Salaam and Unguja region to the east, Tanga and Manyara to the north, Ruvuma and Lindi to the south and Iringa to southwest.
VET PROVISION The zone has 66 vocational training centres which include: 6 Folk Development Colleges, 12 religious owned institutions, 3 VETA owned, 7 other Government institutions and the remaining are operated under private ownership. All of them offer training in different trade areas. The distribution of centres in the zones is as follows:
