The National Vocational Education and Training Board.
On
establishment of VETA, a Vocational Education and Training Board was put in
place to govern the whole VET system. The VET Board
comprises
of eleven
members, view
their constituency representation
and contacts.
The persons to be nominated for these board positions are expected to be well qualified
and ready to contribute to the development of vocational education and
training. The appointed board members are expected to hold office for three
years, after which they may be eligible for re-appointment.
The VET Board as a whole is responsible for the
performance of the
functions and management of affairs of VETA. Unless overruled by
the Minister, the Board has the power and a number of
responsibilities.
The VET Board objectives extend to also include the appointing the Director
General of VETA and establishment of Regional VET Boards which govern a
particular VET zone. Each Regional VET Board will comprise not more than 7
members.
