HOW TO JOIN VETA TRAINING CENTRES
- This part relates to those centres which are owned, managed and financed by VETA itself. Other VET centres have their own modes of inviting and processing applications, albeit within the general harmonised format nationally.
- Joining VETA Centres:
Entry Qualifications Minimum qualifications for the applicants are: i. A holder of at least primary school leaving certificate, ii Age not less than 15 years, iii. And passed the entrance examination or test in skills, Science, Maths and English.
Application Forms Forms are available from the Centre or downloaded from this website. The process starts from 1st August to 30th September, each year. The form is available at TShs. 3000/= from the Centre subject to changes of the day; for those downloaded from the Internet will be taken to the nearest Centre for the payment of the same amount. The form is filled accordingly and candidates may indicate three subjects of study by order of preference. Candidates should indicate to where they would like to undertake their studies if it is different place to that of prequalification exercise.
Entry Examinations Candidates are required to sit for the entry examination. This is a prequalification exercise with an element of assessing aptitudes. Dates, venues and conditions for these examinations are given in the application form.
The Selection process. Successful applicants shall be informed in writing and given joining instructions which also indicate the payment of training fees. This process is normally completed by the end of November each year, and joining instructions for those who passed and qualify are issued in December.
Enrolment process The VETA year starts in January, and by the 10th of the month, studies are normally in progress. Candidates may choose to be boarders or day students.
